Ke Po'okela Cultural Foundation

Ke Po'okela Cultural Foundation is dedicated to promote an understanding of and harmony between the different cultures that make up our society today. By using our experiences within the Hawaiian culture, a model Pacific Rim melting pot, and sharing such traditional Hawaiian values as respect, caring and accountability we strive to:

  1. Promote and cultivate the discovery and resurgence of Hawaiian cultural heritage, through the utilization of cultural workshops and concert performances.

  2. Disseminate throughout the general population the diversity and strength of Hawaiian cultural heritage.

  3. Provide the ability for a wide variety of cultures to interact and live together in harmony, in celebration of diversity.

  4. Demonstrate the benefits of community service and goodwill, through interactive programs and participation in community events.

Ke Po'okela Cultural Foundation is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to perpetuate and preserve the Hawaiian Culture by:

  1. Providing a hula halau (school) of formal education and training in the disciplines of traditional Hawaiian hula, including dance, music, language, values and traditions, history, arts and crafts.

  2. Establishing a performing arts dance company.

  3. Providing cultural presentations by the performing arts dance company.

  4. Organizing community events that bring visibility and revenue to the Hawaiian community.

  5. Providing seminars and workshops in the school systems and general communities.

  6. Providing travel scholarships for students to attend the Kamehameha Schools Hawaiian Exploration Program.

  7. Providing college scholarship opportunities.

  8. Participating in various fundraising events in support of the Hawaiian community.
